DESIGN STORY

The owner of TexZen Tiny Homes bought a fixer upper in South Austin and hired me to re-envision a not so tiny layout for her small, very blue kitchen. We opened the walls to the living and dining rooms, raised and de-popcorned the ceiling, expanded the workspace to the unused breakfast room, and designed a custom mobile island to connect the two kitchen areas. We converted the existing refrigerator recess into a fully functional pantry with a custom reclaimed wood barn door. The same reclaimed wood can be found wrapping the front of the island and column, and on the recessed spice and cookbook shelving. The entire space got new windows, flooring, lighting, and paint.
